Alessandra Luchini is Associate Professor at George Mason University. Her research interests focus on developing technologies to improve diagnostics and therapeutics for devastating diseases including cancer, inflammatory and infectious diseases. Dr. Luchini authored more than fifty peer reviewed publications in scientific journals in chemistry, nanotechnology and proteomics and is co-inventor in a series of issued and licensed patents. Dr. Luchini serves as co-PI and PI on federally funded research grants and private contracts. She is co-founder and scientific advisor of Ceres Nanosciences Inc. Dr. Luchini earned a degree in Chemical Engineering cum laude and a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Padova, Padova, Italy.
