Chris joined Summit Partners in 2001 and leads the firm’s efforts in financial services and financial technology investing. Summit is a $16 billion global private equity firm that was founded in 1984 and has made over 400 investments during its history. Chris has served as a board director for several leading financial services companies, including Focus Financial Partners (acquired by StonePoint/KKR), Invoice Cloud (current), Salient Partners (current), Vestmark (current), optionsXpress (NASDAQ: OXPS, later acquired by Charles Schwab, NYSE: SCHW), Progressive Finance (acquired by Aaron’s, NYSE: AAN), and PSC Info Group (acquired by RevSpring, a portfolio company of GTCR).
Chris also serves as an Advisory Board member to Vestigo Ventures, an investment firm focused on making seed and Series A investments in disruptive Fintech innovators. Prior to Summit, Chris worked for Morgan Stanley and Sun Microsystems. He holds a BA in history, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Chris and his wife Brandi founded the Dean Center for Tick-Borne Illness at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, ranked one of “America’s Best Hospitals” by U.S. News and World Report, in order to provide specialized care and research to patients suffering from chronic Lyme and other vector-borne diseases.
